Biography

Jasmine Clark (she/her) is originally from Sudbury, Ontario. In 2005, she made the decision to relocate to the Syilx Okanagan Nation territory to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at UBC Okanagan’s School of Nursing, where she was part of the inaugural class.

After completing her degree, Jasmine joined Kelowna General Hospital as a Registered Nurse, where she gained valuable experience. She also spent a short time working acute care in Terrace, BC, and completed her Perinatal Specialty Certificate from BCIT in 2012. In August 2012, she transitioned to UBC Okanagan School of Nursing as a staff member.

Starting as the Nursing Lab and Simulation Coordinator, she played a pivotal role in facilitating hands-on learning experiences for nursing students, promoting their clinical skills development. Recognizing her abilities at organization and understanding of the School of Nursing program, she took on the role of Nursing Practice Placement Coordinator in July 2015, overseeing the coordination and management of all UBCO undergraduate nursing students’ clinical learning.

Driven by a commitment to lifelong learning, Jasmine completed her Master of Science in Nursing program at UBC Okanagan in 2021, choosing to focus her final capstone project on a review of the pilot combined collaborative internship emergency department pathway opportunity offered to UBCO 4th year BSN students. She continues to pursue further education and is currently completing a certificate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Jasmine is dedicated to advancing her knowledge and expertise in nursing and healthcare, with a keen passion for exploring and enhancing retention of nurses.

Jasmine is grateful to live and raise her family on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation.
